Timeline
One of the most valuable things that the Little House on the Trailer units have to offer is the luxury of the time recaptured by our clients. We can generally design, develop and deliver your project in as little as six weeks from the time of contract signing. Contrast this with a conventional remodeling project – which typically involves building permits, shopping for contractors, and or architects and engineers, compounded by the delays associated with all the requisite intercommunication: The speedy development and delivery of a Little House on the Trailer is truly one of its greatest assets.
Visiting the Display Yard
To date, every buyer has experienced one walk through of one of our model Little Houses. (1840 Petaluma Boulevard North). Our display models are open for viewing every Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00, and our open house host Katie Remley is available to answer questions. Please call us if you would like to arrange a yard visit by appointment – we can generally arrange something on relatively short notice.
Pricing Your Little House on the Trailer
The price range for the majority of the units we build is $20,000.00 to $50,000.00. A modest, rough framed 120 square unit may be as low as $10,000.00. Typically you can expect the cost of your finished unit to range from $150.00 per square foot to $200.00 per square foot. Because each Little House on the Trailer is built to order, we recommend that you schedule a design consultation with Steve Marshall when you are ready to get more specific about cost and design. Along with a preliminary set of plans and specs for your project, Steve will follow up with preliminary cost information which is specific to your project.
Site feasibility and Location on Your Site
Steve visits your site in order to review the feasibility of delivery and installation, and to assist in specifying the exact site location on your property. We have installed our Little Houses in very challenging settings: Hills, fences, gates, and existing trees etc. should not be assumed to be an impediment to delivery and location without a site visit. The Little House on the Trailer works closely with highly qualified and licensed movers and installers with years of experience moving and locating homes and trailers. A client may also be asked to assist in the location of their existing septic, water, electrical service etc.
Design: In Collaboration Our Clients
Custom design, in collaboration with the customer is truly central to the development of each Little House on the Trailer. Everything from roof pitch to floorplan and window and door selection is subject to the clients needs and inclinations. The level of finish varies greatly from client to client as well – some buyers wish to do their own finish work, others elect to have us create a house with all appliances installed and a high level of finish throughout. Steve responds to client input directly, without imposing a singular aesthetic, so the results become more and more varied as the portfolio of Little Houses on the Trailer grows. The product’s development is always being forwarded by the buyers: Their strong presence in the design and development process is perpetually refueling Little House on the Trailer with new ideas and inspiration.
